His most famous and demanding clients include old Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines, for example the Hôryûji Temple, the Tôdaiji Temple, the Yakushiji Temple and the Kasuga shrine in Nara or the Ise-jingû shrine in Ise. Nearly two months of the year the workshop devotes itself to these spiritual customers and to the dyeing of special papers and fabrics for use in their celebrations and rituals.
